Holiday Haven

Holiday Haven

Hi folks!

Welcome to our new blog! Keep up with us here to find out all about what's going on in Miss Kay's kitchen!

We're preparing for the busy holiday season at the shop, as is the rest of Antique Alley. If you don't know, that's the area our shop is located in. It's a shopper's dream full of antique stores, clothing boutiques, furniture stores, great restaurants and an adorable inn.

This season we'll be offering 5 different kinds of pies for special order in the store: sweet potato, pecan, pumpkin almond, coconut cream and derby (chocolate pecan). We currently only offer the mini pecan pie online for shipping, but we're working on figuring out how to ship more types of pies in the full 9 inch size. We'll add them to the website as soon as we can! We'll also soon be adding some special holiday items for shipping and in-store purchase, such as our special holiday party mix, dipped pretzels and whatever other ship-able goodies we can think of!

Miss Kay has been in and out of the shop lately, hopping back and forth between meeting customers, loving on her grands and traveling with family members for speaking engagements. She is a hard-working woman! The holidays are a great time to come visit our store, as you never know who will stop by! This week we've had Kay, Al, Korie and Willie in the store for lunch and coffee.

This time of year people talk a lot about being thankful. We're thankful for you, our friends, guests and customers for supporting us. It's our dream to show you the love and warmth we feel when we can help our guests relive wonderful memories through food. We received a card this week from a lady who visited us earlier this year from out of town. She said that she hadn't tasted her grandmother's biscuits since she was a little girl and her grandmother passed away. She took one bite of our "Mammaw Kay's Famous Biscuit" and was immediately taken back to the times she spent with her grandmother in her childhood. Our goal is to give every customer that sense of peace and nostalgia with our homegrown, passed down recipes. We hope you always enjoy the food and drinks we make for you, as we make them with all the love in our hearts and the hope of achieving our dream.

"He answered, “Whoever has two shirts must give one to the man who has none, and whoever has food must share it." Luke 3:11
